A short escape into the motors world

When you live in a city like Dubai you are lucky enough to be able to attend the most up to date events and to be part of the most exciting shows, exhibitions or launches.
Either is fashion, beauty, cars or exclusive live music concerts, the only thing you have to do is to leave your house and to head to the event venue.
A motor show definitely can not be out of your week-end To do list so going there was an excellent idea to start the week-end with.
And let’s the show begin!

Hundreds of the world’s most sought-after super cars were presented at Dubai International Motor Show 2013.

In total 600 souped-up motors including more than 100 global and regional launches and 15 concept cars.

And when you are accompanied by a brilliant connoisseur of engines, speed, horse power  and other details which for us, women, are a bit less relevant than the colour, shape and name/brand of the car 🙂
 – visiting a car show could be a comprehensive introduction into the motor’s world!

 911 GT3 Porsche, the beast…

Yes I know, some of you may consider that the impressive rear spoiler laying on the refined design of this beauty is downsizing the overall look of the 911 GT3.
But removing it would consist in transforming this car into an uncontrollable fighter jet and promise you to be airborne the very first time your right foot would start flirting with the gas pedal…
It’s relatively small 3.8 L engine develops 469 horse power and brings its driver at 100 km per hour in less than 3.5 seconds… Astonishing…
So the giant spoiler is one of the elements that are here to ensure total security by literally gluing this ride to the road, but if you believe that you have what it takes to control this beast and its extremely high limits, for you I have 3 words:  ESC + TC OFF
It is a button on the center console that you can hit to disconnect all the car computers and consequently turn off the traction control…
You can take it for a dance, but I am not sure who will “drive” who, best of luck… 🙂

Italian passion, Alfa Romeo 4C

This Italian lady in red looks every bit as exotic as a Ferrari. Beautiful lines… And it has about the same width to height proportions as a Ferrari 458 Italia, breathtaking… And it flies with triple digits decibels of anger, its noise is pure Ferrari in loudness, fury, intensity…
I can foresee the envious smiles of the ladies reading this post and looking at the marvellous design of this new Italian beauty, but be careful ladies!!!
This is absolutely not a women’s car: it has no radio, no air conditioning, no power steering, no side or knee airbags, no real carpeting, no ability to adjust the passenger seat in anyway (if you are a woman driver addicted to cars than all the above will probably suit you) and a ridiculously small 45 liters fuel tank.
On the other hand it has the most violent sounding 1.8 liter engine (all aluminium) direct injected and angrily turbocharged that makes a V-12 engine noise. With such a small engine and “only” 237 horse power, it pushes you from 0 to 100 km per hour in about 4.5 seconds and is more agile than a Lotus Elise and quicker than a Porsche Cayman that has to displace its 250 additional kilos (versus the AR 4C)…
So this new Alfa Romeo is all about beauty and pure driving passion, and to be honest, it is refreshing to see this type of projects coming out these days, out of the new format that is nowadays all about electronics and driver assistance…

Austin Healey 3000

Donald Healey built cars bearing his own name from 1945 onwards. The Austin Healey 3000 model (from the pic above) was produced in extensive numbers from 1959 to 1967 in 3 versions (Mark 1, 2 and 3). The Mark 3 was the most powerful and luxurious of all Austin Healey’s built. It was coming with a 2.9 liter engine and developing 148 horse power pushing the car to 100 km per hour in 9.8 seconds (which was impressive at that time) and reaching 200 km per hour at maximum speed…
At the time this car was a tough competitor on the road, as well as in rally events around the globe, to the triumphs, Jaguar XK and MGs. When looking at this beauty it seems that even today, its driver will have absolutely no rivalry in our streets while stopping at the red light next to a modern luxury sports car…
Enjoy the pic, enjoy the Austin Healey lines…

We have enjoyed and admired the latest models from brands like Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Bugatti, Cadillac, Ferrari, Jaguar, Maserati, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche …

As for me being addicted primarily to fashion, cosmetics and beauty, I was attracted and completely seduced by

RED!!!

This one has got the most comments on facebook and my friends saying that this car suits me extremely well!

I have to admit that red is a nice colour, but meanwhile my new 4×4 “beauty” came in white and I am more than happy about it…
Thank you my love for the precious comments about the cars et bien sûr for the Sport “beauty” in white with gemballa exhaust from the Porsche sport division 🙂
